How To Resolve Mouse Problems In Gateway Computers

If your Gateway computer fails to recognize your newly installed mouse or it suddenly stops working, then there might be several factors responsible for this. The expert technicians from Gateway Tech Support Company explain some of the most common causes for this problem.

Freeze Up Issue On Computer

If your mouse suddenly stops working, then this might be due to freeze up issues in your Gateway Computers. Check for this problem by pressing the NUM or Caps lock on the keyboard. If the light on the keyboard turns on or off, then your system is frozen and thus your mouse stopped working. Try to restart the computer.

Mouse Not Connected Properly

As per Gateway technical support, the primary cause of working issue on your computer is because your mouse is not connected properly. Try these troubleshooting steps, as per the type of mouse been connected, to resolve this issue:

USB mouse: If your USB mouse fails to connect with your gateway computer, then try to reconnect it with some other USB port. Attempt to connect it to the back USB port of the computer.
PS/2 mouse: Check that you are connecting your PS/2 mouse to the correct port. Once it is connected, restart your computer.
Wireless mouse: Check if it is within the range and there are no interference between computer and mouse. If the mouse is old, then replace the batteries.
Driver Issue

Due to outdated mouse drivers, your hardware is not able to communicate with your computer’s operating system. Get Gateway help and support to install and update the latest mouse drivers in your computer.
